View Full Version : MBP: Loud obnoxious BEEP on powerup

Recently I've been noticing a very loud obnoxious beep when I turn on my MPB. It's right before the grey loading screen. First the "beep" then the normal startup chime that all macs make. Is there something wrong with my MBP?

In my experience, a "beep" means bad ram. Usually the computer won't boot afterwards though. Check to see if all your ram is showing up, if not thats probably it.

is that in "About this mac"? It says I have 1gb, which is what i have....

Pull the ram out and re-seat it.
