I think the Rutles posed more of a threat to the Beatles than Apple v. Apple. I cant imagine anyone confusing the two. Hell, a lot of people dont realize:

iPod is an Apple product.
iTunes is part of Apple.

Would be cool to see the Beatles Catalog on iTunes; it can only benefit both parties.

I agree.

But greed and a sour taste can be powerful forces.

In addition to you remarks Rich, I post the following.
I conversation inspired by this whole ordeal took place on a college campus recently.
*note no one but me is an apple user in the following conversation, one is a sophomore male gamer, the other a freshmen female english major.

Me - "What do you think of when you hear 'Apple'"
Group - "I don't know" followed by "ipods"
Me - " anything else?"
Group -pause- "nope"
Me - "you guys know who the Beetles are, right?"
Group - "Heck yeah" and "I love the Beetles!"
Me - "Do you know the name of their record company?"
Group - With looks of *wtf* "uh, no."
Me - "apple records"
Group - this time with looks of *who cares* "okay..."
Me - *starts talking about lawsuit*

This scientific and accurate representation of college kids brought to you by Tyler.
