iCal not seeing new birthdays in addressbook...ideas?

Does anyone know why when I add a birthday to an existing addressbook contact it is not appearing in my birthday calendar in iCal? 😕 Is there a way I can get iCal to rebuild the birthday calendar?

Sounds really simple, but have you quite iCal and reopened it? 🙂

Also, is the Show Address Book Calendars option checked in iCal preferences?

How about new contacts? If you make a new contact, does it carry across to iCal? 🙂

Sorted. I was being an idiot. My mac is set to the american date format and hence the birthdays were added to iCal however not where I was looking for them - doh!
