Forgive me if this has been mentioned, but my searches of the forum were to no avail.

This is my first Mac and I've had my share of dumb moments (namely, reformatting because the icon for "Software Update" was inexplicably corrupted and the fact that I kept installing PPC codecs - whoops). But this is one that has me stumped.

I want to be able to watch movie files burned on a data DVD from Front Row... but the best I've managed to accomplish is making an Alias for a specific disc. Is there any way of making an alias/shortcut in the Movies folder that will always point to the SuperDrive?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I don't believe you can create an alias to a device (Superdrive). An alias must point to some volume (DVD, HD, etc.), directory, or file. The reason you can create an alias of an HD is because it is considered a volume. The SuperDrive is not, it is just a device used to read other volumes (DVDs and CDs).
