How can I run a live apache server with Mysql?

Is there anyway to setup a live server without buying mac os X server for 499?

Sure. Apache is already installed on your Mac, and you can download and install MySQL from their website. Link. You'll probably want PHP too. Link

And you can get a simple package of all you need if you look around for MAMP (http://www.mamp.info/)

WebserverXKit is probably just what your looking for:

Comes with apache, mysql, and php5 and you can start/stop it from system preferences.
