I started my Power Mac G5 up today, logged in... and didn't get much further.
When I log in, my desktop image loads, but nothing else appears. No menus, no dock, no icons - nothing. I have to force shutdown to get out of it.

I tried loggin in as other users, and they appear to be working faultlessly - it's just my account!
I've run a hard disk repair, and fixed my permissions.

Any suggestions as to how I can get my account back?
Many thanks!

In the working user account, go to the Users account and make sure it looks like it's about the right size (should be a few GBs, depending on what you keep in it). Also, use System Preferences to disable all the Login Items. 🙂

The size seems about right, but I can't remove items from my login options because I can't get that far!

Nope. I guess it's a thing each user can only control.
Don't worry - I sorted it. I flushed all possible caches and it seems to have fixed it.

🙂
