The guy didn't even say why Macs are more expensive- all the known reasons... MagSafe, Backlight KB, BT/WS, iSight, thin/light/cool design, OS X, iLife, the list goes on and on and on...

For me, that extra $4-500 or so is definitly worth it.

I feel they should also count in the advantages of the splendid software included and perhaps have a look at cost of ownership and measure downtime over a brief period.
