I used to have an iBook and I gave it to my brother for when he went to Austrailla. He tells me when he charges the battery it works fine as long as he unplugs it. If he keeps it plugged in it just turns off after a few seconds. Anyone ever heard of this.

Are you saying the thing crashes if it's plugged into the wall? If so, then maybe get him to re-seat the battery and then try a PMU reset. 🙂

Yeah, it only crashes when it's plugged in. Never really heard of that before. Taking a look at the PMU reset now. TY

I'll send him that link and get him to try it. That potentially seems like a fix. Just weird how it only happens when it's plugged in. Do they use some sort of weird voltage over dem der parts? 😱

BUT Apple adapters should be able to handle the currency switch, they're designed to. He may still need an outlet adapter (essentially a little thing to get his prongs to fit their prongs, NEVER jam a plug into the wrong size socket).
