dear all,

I am a newbie with apple, but I bought an Imac in the beginning of hte year.

I would like to know if it is possible to acces the isight camera, with a windows based laptop, in order to make a surveillance cam, and to watch it during my professional travels.

truly, I'm not aware of all the mac specificities, but if you can explain me this item (if possible of course) within the most simple way, then I thank you very much in advance.

for info, I'm french, I will do my best in english!

thank you in advance¬!

Vincent

Well... not directly, no. But you could set up the iMac as a web cam server, and then access the images from a browser on your PC in that manner.

Try CamSpinner (http://www.optima-system.com/camspinner/) it's only $10 and should work pretty well.

ok, it's a pitty if I have to bought it..... but If I understand well, this software will create a kind of web page (FTP?) with differents pictures taken by the cam?

I think I can fix it.....

thanks, and if somebody else have an other idea?

it will be great also!

thanks demi-god! ;)

Well, it can create eaither a web page served by your mac (an HTTP server), or it can upload via FTP to a web server that you have elsewhere. I hope somebody comes along that is more willing to explain this. I'm too tired right now. :(

If it uploads to an HTTP server (best thing to do, in my opinion) a live stream of video will be accessible to you simply by typing in an IP address, user name, and password.
