Hi all:
My Palm Vx finally bit the dust so I'm in the market for another PDA. I have always like the Clies, but I recall reading that they do not sync well with the Mac using the Palm Desktop app in OS X, and that you needed to use a third party app (can't recall the name offhand).
Of course this all preceeded iSync, which apparently supports Sony devices.
Any Clie users out there willing to share their experiences with OS X and iSync/Palm Desktop 4.0?
I can't find anything in the Apple Knowledge Base.
I'm willing to spend ~150 bucks for a PDA, which could potentially grab me eitehr the Sony N610 or T615 colour models on ebay...or the grey scale Palm m500. Guess which route I'd rather take?
Thanks for your help.

I have a SJ-30 and it works great with isync and palm desktop. I heard some people having problems causing them to re-install PD but I have never had a problem. It works flawlessly in 10.2 for me.
The sony palms are very nice definently get one.

make sure you notice the little * next to some devices, read the notes!

Ha!
I thought so...
Thanks for your help Tim. That extra program that you need tacks on another 30 bucks.
I think I'll just get another used Palm Vx off ebay...they're under $100.00 now.

No problem, Clie's are really cool pda's but mac support really sucks. I wish my older ones would work. I don't need all the fancy little gizmos on the new ones, hell, one of mine is even a cool color one, but sadly i have no use for it without iSync compatability.
I almost got one of those little new $89 palms, but no backlight and no expansion is really a killer.

I'm actually selling my brand-new CLIE since I'm just not a PDA guy, but I bought "Missing Sync" software and my Clie worked flawlessly with my Mac.
I wouldn't worry about it, and if you're still in the market, I got a new PEG-NX70V for sale with an extra cradle and the Missing Sync Software!

BadgerMac.
Thanks for your offer! I still like the form factor of the Clie, but I decided to go with the devil I know and bought another Vx off of eBay for 90 bucks. Your model is a nice unit though, and I'm sure you won't have any problems selling it.l
Cheers

Did you try the Missing Sync Software that you can purchase? My PEG-700 worked great!

Missing Sync will not work with Clié's that use a palmOS version lower than 4.0 I believe.
Anyone know if there is some chance you can update the OS to 4.0 on these older ones?
