Would be very grateful if any knows...
I just bought a new MBP, and put the firewire transfer on everything from my old 12" PB.
I was reading the little manual after I started the transfer... and read that you should be careful when crossing over applications as the newer MBP ones may be replaced by the older ones?!!
So am I now running iLife via rosetta instead of natively???
thanks for any comments.

I'm not sure if you are running iLife under rosetta, but I do know that from my experience when I transfered everything over from my PB things were way more sluggish. I highly recommend doing a fresh install, letting all apps install from the start fresh.

no, it will only keep the newest version of the app.
and the reason its slugish is becuase it has to reindex the drive. It might take a day or two...
and well non-ub will also run slow

Well, it'll keep the newest version if you tell it to when it asks, but if the dialog about replacing a file popped up and you hit "Replace" after checking the "Apply to all" (or whatever the specific wording is), then it'll replace them all.

It would have been better to tell it to never replace, and then only the apps which weren't already there would be copied.

If you see problems, since it's brand new, it'd probably be easy to just reinstall the OS and apps off of the DVDs provided (half hour or so, max) and then retransfer the files, being more careful this time.
