I have this problem with my PB, when I close the lid and put it away after 1-2 days of non use next time I go to use it the battery is drained completely and I have to boot my PB up, even the date gets wiped out! What gives? It's also set to sleep after 45 minutes of no use but with the lid closed it should sleep right? Anyone know whats going on?

I suggest resetting the PMU or the whole PRAM, that may fix the problem (for the PRAM, you hold down Option+Command+p+r when you boot, and wait until you hear the boot chime three times). As for the computer sleeping when you close the lid, all G3 and G4 laptops do that, so don't worry about it.
Did you calibrate your battery recently? Let it run out entirely, like to the point where you have to plug it in to boot it, then don't boot, just plug it in until the battery fully charges.
