I am trying to bring my mpeg files (im pretty sure that is what they are) over to my mac so i can edit them. What do i have to buy and how do i go about doing this. I tried putting the files on my PSP (using it as a mem stick) and plugging it into my IMAC put there was no picture, the timebar would be moving but there was no picture. Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks

I'm pretty sure you don't hafta buy anything... with what program are you trying to play the files? when in doubt, VLC (free!) plays almost all file types.
p.s. You're computer is an iMac :)

The original MPEG codec hasn't been included in QuickTime Player for a while, and Windows Media Player is meant for WMV files. Your best bet for MPEGs is either VLC player or MPlayer OSX. Both these programs will play MPEG and AVI files, and both are free. Some people prefer one, some the other, but as they're free you may as well install both :)
Have a look on VersionTracker (http://www.versiontracker.com) for the downloads.
I believe there's an app called MPEG Slipstream that'll convert the .mpg to a mov. Roxio's Popcorn 2 will do the MOV - PSP format. That'd be the easiest, though Popcorn does cost $$.

I am still having the same problem where the timecode moves but there is not picture:confused: I tried both VLC and MPlayer OS X. remember i am trying to take the movies from my downstairs PC and put them on my upstairs iMac, is there any other way i can transfer between the two besides my PSP.
