How long does it take Google to crawl my website?

I just submitted the website I am working on to Google this morning. Google says they can't estimate when it will be up, but it seems like just a clause they legally had to put there. Any idea how long it usually takes for Google to index my site?

It can take up tp 6 weeks. If you submit a sitemap to them that usually gets you in much quicker.

Mine were crawled through several times in the first week or so, but didn't show up very high at all in the search results. About 2 months out before they really started to rank high.

Give it time, it takes a while, but at least its free! ;)

How do you submit a sitemap?

Is it a bad thing to send the site too many times? I.E. if send a site map will Google think I'm just bugging them and skip over me?

What are some good free sites that send your site to multiple search engines?
