I have been given some money to upgrade a friend's computer.
I am looking for:
RAM for a Beige G3, 128 or 256MB sticks
PCI Video card, 32MB preferred but 64 is wonderful.
PCI FireWire card
PCI USB card
(Or combo of the above two)
PCI Wireless card
Thanks!

Er... what are you asking for?
A PRAM battery, or ?

Yeah, the PRAM battery. I probably will be needing three of them.
I found a site awhile ago that had them for $3.99, but that has turned up nothing.
In terms of PCI video cards: 32MB is preferable.

Should be about $8 each in Radio Shack - you'll eat up any saving in the shipping. Watch the cheap ones, they are dead batteries that have been "rejuvenated" or recharged. I have no idea how reliable those will be.

Ah, cool. Thanks for the advice.
Mind if I ask how to go about removing the PRAM battery from the case? I really don't wanna go yanking around on the black "holder" its in.
I'll take it to the Shack tommorow to try and find one that is the same.
NOW: Since the PRAM issue is out of the way, I am looking for RAM for a beige G3 as well.

The ones at Radio Shack are $15 here in Massachusetts. I get mine from MicroCenter in Cambridge for $6.99.

It's called a 1/2AA 3.6 V Lithium cell (no pigtails) in case your phoning around.
The battery lives inside a 2 part black plastic cage - the top part holds onto the bottom with 2 "tangs" one at each of the narrow ends. The easiest way is to slide a small blade screwdrive down the inside of the black "cage" at the end of the battery, and gently pry outwards just a bit. You'll see the top half of the plastic cage will disengage from the bottom half. Then just lift off. !TAKE NOTE! of which way the battery is facing! You do NOT want to insert the new one polarity reversed.
After you remove the battery, short across the empty battery socket terminals for 5 minutes with a screwdriver or a repurposed paper clip before installing the new battery. This ensures the PRAM circuit is completely drained. Whipping a new battery in immediately sometimes corrupts the PRAM and gives you booting problems.
If you DO have problems after the new battery is in, press the CUDA power manager reset switch on the motherboard, but only once.
You will have to reset time, date, mouse and network preferences after zeroing the PRAM, and a few other oddments in the System Preferences.

I have a couple of 128MB sticks, a PCI wireless card (.b not .g), and a firewire pci card. If you're still looking for them, PM me and I'll get them together and get some pictures for you.

I'll be getting back to you on that. The Rage 128 is tempting... but I am seeing if anything 32MB+pops up.
What kind of price are you asking, out of curiosity?

Ive got a 128mb PC 66 ram stick ( which is just perfect for the g3 beige). Its short, so no size issues.
Would you be interested in doing a trade for 128mb ram + PCi firewire+USB card = performas? Let me know...

Very interested in the 7000, as long as it is PCI.

I have a PCI Radeon 7000 in my beige, and no, it's not for sale (yet). Plus, I think it's a flashed PC version. UPC sticker scratched off, and the driver CD was burned?

Hmm... probably not, since I will be needing it soon. budugu: you said this is a 64MB card? Unflashed, Mac version?

You still have those Performas? I'll trade you a pair of 256MB sticks for them.
