Apple Licensing OS X to Dell?

A co-worker of mine was looking for an updated BIOS for his dell and found Apple Mac OS in the OS menu.

Might Dell have jumped the gun in preperation for anupcoming MacWorld announcement?

THis was posted on MR a few weeks ago.

THe theory is its a slip as they offer printer drivers.
Just a bug IMO

Dell had asked Apple in the past for an OS X liscense but Apple refused, so this is just a typo.

This is old news. And yes, it is an error. Apple's partners do not preannounce events lest they incur the wrath of Steve. Even if the option presages some future Apple-Dell agreement, it would not be correctly posted on Dell's website until after it has gone live.

Wasn't the alternate running theory also that this is an option in the field purely because Dell sells some products that have OS X drivers (e.g. printers)?
