I'm looking for a program, UB if possible, for unraring, and handling various other compression formats for decompression and compression.

Unraring? Stuffit Expander.

Unfortunately, with their compression software, it's proprietary.

It'd stick with OS X's built in "archive" (ZIP) functionality.
