Hot town, summer in the city.
World Naked Bike Ride - Chicago - Sat. June 10th (http://www.worldnakedbikeride.org/chicago/)
$10 says that no actually attractive person will participate, but thousands of men will show up to watch anyway. I hope no one even considers posting links to photos of such an event, much less pictures themselves.

Actually there is a photo page on the link I posted. I've seen these folks riding in the past few years. Mostly skinny faux-hipster types - some cute, some scary...very scary.

Weather tomorrow in Chicago
A high of 58 degrees with 10 to 15 mph winds and thunderstorms.
Sounds like a perfect day to ride around naked on a bike.
The shrinkage factor should be highly prevalent.

As if faux people and hipsters weren't annoying in themselves, this attracts faux-hipsters?

leather bike seat...check
sweat-inducing activity...check
naturally warm body area in contact with seat...check
unclothed pumping legs...check
exposed dangly bits ready to be caught between pumping legs and sweaty bike seat...check
Has the makings of a fine outing, to be sure.:p
Wow, must be quite an experience.:p

Agreed. Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood back-in-the-day was chock full of great artists, bands, freaks of all sort. I wouldn't have ever referred to them as "hipsters," though. In fact, I don't think I could even refer to anyone post Beat generation as a hipster. The bulk of Wicker Parkers nowadays are trust fund trendy-chic-faux-hipster wannabes. Alas. I'm not planning to go on the ride but it's always fun to observe.

That's the high - it's supposed to be 48 degrees that night. Frosty bits indeed.

And judging from the photos on the original link it was chilly last time too :p
Guys with small endowmets and girls with fat rear-ends should not be riding around naked.
And I hope they hose-down and then steralize those bikes once completed :D
And under no circumstance should rental bikes be used
And lastly, naked bike riding is SOOO WRONG...

Burn all the bike seats! Now!
Should be interesting. If I'm bored enough, maybe I'll go and watch. It's going to be chilly and raining tomorrow here...

I totally agree with you. The only people you see getting off at Damen Blue Line are 30 year old scenesters who are trying to remain hip. I may look like them, but I don't want to live with them and associate with them. That's why I still live in the 'burbs.

They're wearing helmets so technically they're not naked, just overexposed.
I seats will be collected into one big pile and ceremoniously burned at the end of the event.

hmm, there was a naked bike ride in London today and they had the weather for it. Apparently there was a turn out of around 800 people
(http://www.worldnakedbikeride.org/uk/london/2006/index.html)
And there are pictures (http://moblog.co.uk/blogs.php?show=8474) here (and no, they're not all old wrinklies although an 84 year old granny was involved!) - fascinating image at the top! (NSFW)

I want a small amount of money for inventing this.
They call this an organized event. I call it Saturday.

Neil's college roommates ran around the block in their underwear once. They happened to run past a bunch of people in their apartment complex in the process. He will only fess up to making snow angels in his tighty-whities. :D

I once brought a date back to my apartment, with him wearing only chaps and a jock-strap. The neighbors in that apartment community that ran in to us loved it!

There's a chick in the front row (partially covered by her bag), a boob further back, and a woman's face to the left. ;) :D

There are lots of naked people in the London one. In the first shot, you can see things that the MR word filter removes ;)

If you are going to participate, make sure you get there first.
So all you have to look at is the open road.
Not up someone's ass.

I know a few of the people who did the London Naked Bike Ride. Very nice people. Babysitting duties and general disinterest prevented me from going, tho I've done similar activites in the past.
That Oxford Street photo in the London Naked Ride blog is very near the Apple Store.
If there were a few more Apple Stores in London, maybe we at MacRumours could hold an Apple Store to Apple Store Naked Bike Ride?
Any takers?
:)
Protesting what? Uhh 'Where's our G5 laptops??'
:)
