Hi there

I urgently need to sell the PowerMac that I have just received. I was given this system:

Quad 2.5GHz
2x500GB HDDs
4GB DDR2 ECC
Quadro 4500

I was given it by my girlfriend to do some rendering work for her parents 3D graphics for a new business they are setting up.

I am going to do the work on one of my other systems as I have had a bit of a problem and am urgently in need of £2,800 by the end of toniht. I can ake payment by Western Union and ship the box out Wednesday morning. If this doesn't seel by 3pm and payment made very shortly after (the local WU branch closes at 4) I will be retracting the sale as this is worth £5,088 and I really don't want to sell it but I need the money.

Please post questions here.

Thanks

I'm assuming your gf won't mind if you sell it? :p Hey man, what's the rush, if you ask me it sounds a bit suss.

Well she said that if I have to sell it because I can't do anything else then it will be ok. I need the money to fly myself, my brother and my sister to Australia to see my dad who is having an operation and it's, not going well.

Would you accept local pickup?

Western Union reeks of a con. Steer clear all if he won't accept local pickup.

Well I can but it wouldn't be able to be until after I get back from Australia.

Will you accept PayPal? No one should do this with Western Union.

I don't have a PayPal debit card so I have no way of quickly getting the money. If it seems like a scam then please close the thread admins, thanks.

Personally I would not touch this with a barge pole, unless face-to-face meetup and payment is allowed, or some reliable form of payment, where the buyer actually has some protection. Of course, just the use of Western Union doesn't make it a scam.. but it makes it seem likely. Buyer beware..

OK, assuming it's all legit - you won't have money unless you sell it by 3 pm today? Not looking likely. And definitely not from me. Can you not borrow the money? Split the cost across several credit cards (buy the plane ickets tindivdually)?

Ok the clearly this isn't going to work if people aren't happy with paying with WU. The sale is cancelled, please close the thread. Thanks anyway.
