Naming my web design company - Phinest Design?

I was originally going to do "Phi Design," and link it to the "golden number" and how it is perfection blah blah blah. But then I realized that there is already a visual design studio named Phi Design. Is Phinest Design too corny? I googled it and found this...http://goldennumber.net/products/. Thats a problem, right? I mean they aren't graphic design, but they've got that TM.

And then I was thinking of not tying it to the number Phi at all and just call it Finest Design becuase its not (that) corny and it seems to be relatively safe as far as no one caring since if its the same name as theirs because its so simple. Any ideas?

not to discourage you, but I'm not a big fan of "cleaver" spelling for company names. Maybe it's because I worked for a company before that used a different spelling for a word, but I can say it resulted in numerous times when we had to repeat and spell our e-mail addresses out over the phone, same with the web address.

So if you go with Phinest Design what are the chances your potential customers are going to end up at http://www.finestdesign.com/ instead of your site?

The TM could mean nothing. Many organisations use that even though they haven't trademarked the name.

But even so the name sounds like a low market furniture company to me - sorry.

Maybe get off of Finest Design, and consider a different name.

Yeah, I agree. I'm reconsidering Phinest Design.

Who is your customer?

What are their values and prejudices? (NOT yours, because you are the designer and they are not, ergo your brains are wired completely differently from each other)

What are they going to think about a company that uses "punning" words for their company name? Creative? or Flakey?

Who is it important (business wise) to impress, them, or you?

actually its pronounced both ways, it just depends on what it follows.
