The people on this website(and apple owners) are more helpful than with linux or windows sites.
I have asked a few questions after I bought my first mac and the help was great.I received step by step instructions. the reason is the apple fans want you to enjoy your mac and want to show the world why apple is the best. the windows people seem to always want money.and the linux people are not helpful at all. It seems like they don't want anyone to use their OS.F-linux.

I like Mac's a lot, but I really don't find the macrumors forums to be the most technically helpful site for useful answers to problems. For real OS X problems, I go to: http://macosx.com/forums/.

If you are looking for a good Windows site, go to the Operating Systems forum at http://forums.anandtech.com

Most of my linux questions go here: http://www.linuxquestions.org/. These guys have been the most helpful of any technical site that I have been to.

I am a switcher, and the answers here have been prompt and excellent.

I think apple fans in general are more helpful. Perfect example: I was just on a forum and two guys were helping me with linux and this is the first night I have ever tried centos(it came without instructions) and this moron says I have no business even using this OS. everyone starts as a newbie sometime. I guess with linux you have to be born with it stuck up your behind.
