I downloaded (stole) Microsoft office for my Macbook, but whenever I open any of the programs, an error message comes up saying "an error occurred while trying to open the microsoft framework library". I have already tried deteting and re-downloading Microsoft Office on my computer. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this or what it means?

I installed a (legal) Windows version of Office on my MacBook. All my Office apps are working fine.

Try updating Office or get a legit copy http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/default.aspx .

"Microsoft Office Error" -- isn't that a redundancy?

I have a *legal* copy of Microsoft Office 2004 I purchased from my school. I installed it on my new MacBook 2.0Ghz. I have the same problem. It is extremely annoying , because it will not load any documents until I click 'ok' every time.

Does no one else have this issue? I figured it was since I am using the intel processor, but office runs via rosetta so it shouldn't be an issue.

I just found this link, I will try this when I get home:

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx?pid=download&location=/mac/download/office2004/Office2004_11_2.xml

Perhaps instead you should try the latest version (http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx?pid=download&location=/mac/download/office2004/Office2004_11.2.4.xml&secid=4&ssid=29&flgnosysreq=True) rather than one from last year. ;)

No, we won't provide help with stolen software.

I don't know what the problem might be, but I installed Office 2004 from a store-bought disk with no problems on my MBP. So I know it works. I do not know why your particular copy doesn't, but I do recommend the update realityisterror linked to above as a first step.
