Personally, I'm big on clicking on 'New Posts' and just scanning down the list...this way, I don't miss anything and everything's up-to-date :)

New posts usually. Though there are some 'slow' periods due to time zones when I fill sift few a few individual forums.

I set "new posts" to command+1 on safari bookmark.
that key combination is pretty much worn out. :o

I think iGary wrote about it in a post, and I thought "I'm such a doofus! I've been clicking when I could just use keyboard shortcuts!"
My life was changed on that day... I have less of one. :p :o
to anyone that wants to know how, but doesn't: Drag the "new posts" on the page up to the bookmarks bar. make it be the first one, be command+1.. 2nd, command+2, etc.
Oh, safari, so easy to drag around and use. :D

I just go through topics that interest me. I will probably start to use the "new posts" button in the future though.

I mainly use 'New Posts', but have recently started automatically subscribing to threads (without any notifications), and now I will check these out when I first log in. I use the 'Quick Links' though :p

New Posts, with all the forums I''m not overly interested in eliminated because of my really slow dial-up connection.

New Posts for me. With the following exclusions of forums 14,18,86,75,76,60,8,63,79,83,80,6,19 (can't remember where I got these numbers from) unless something seems to be missing and then I trawl through the various forums to try and find it.

I hit the "New Posts" link at the top of the forum. It's easiest and organizes new threads well in my opinion. If there is specific thread I'm looking for though, then I'll just go directly to the forum it's in and see if there are new posts to it.

After checking "new posts" I go to "quick links" - "subscribed threads"

None of the above.
I have a bookmarks folder with several MR bookmarks. Most used are the "New Posts (http://forums.macrumors.com/search.php?do=getnew)" bookmark and one with a search to threads I've posted in (http://forums.macrumors.com/search.php?do=process&starteronly=0&searchuser=Mitthrawnuruodo).
I also have a MR forums search engine in Firefox (and had for AcidSearch when I used Safari).
