Odd Glitch with 'Bolded' New Posts

I've been having a problem where threads are coming up bold, even when there are NO new posts in the thread.

Example is attached, a thread where I'm the newest poster and there are no posts I haven't seen.

Additionally, it is only showing 59 replies even though when you go into the thread and look at the replies there are 60 (does the OP not count?)

The first post cannot be a reply so anything after that is considered a reply. And that is because of server lag. If you go back into it there will no longer be any new posts. Its a bit annoying but i have gotten used to it, as it also happens to my site as well. I will go to new posts and half of them will be mine.

It's never happened before though.

I get this with Safari every now and then. Usually quitting and reopening Safari fixes it, if not then resetting Safari from the Safari menu does. :)
