Web design company - iKitekture?

Internet Architecture. Thoughts? The name might be too corny...I'm looking for a second opinion...

iKitekture? It's a bit hard to pronounce and therefore spell, so it's not going to work very well as a domain name I don't think. I think you need something more simple.

yeah...I agree with richardjames. And I'm not too sure where the Ks come from. They seem to be just there as a gimmick. If you're looking to smash those words together, I'd probably go with iTecture at first glance.

Hm. I never thought of iTecture. I like it better than iKitekture. (the reason I went with the k's was because iChitecture looked like it really shouldn't be spelled that way).

Second opinion on iTecture? Anyone?

Sorry, none of those "playing with words" names does it for me. As a potential customer I'm thinking.... highschool student plays at being a web design business.

I'm going to hire a firm whose approach is more professional. My opinion, feel free to disregard.

I am going to have to agree with Canda. I would say that any professional would be more inclined to use something else.
First, drop the i. Let the i(fill in the blank) crap be Apple's trademark. While it may not have been intentional, it sounds silly. Next, don't try to find a creative way to spell architecture. If you must, try something like arcEtekTur. You'll still look like you're confused on how to spell and I'd hope you were able to design me a house better than you can spell, but you'd get your way and it's be a little easier to understand.

your post is a good example of why he probably should stay away from any version of the word "architecture" completely.....he's offering "web design" which I assume is designing web sites....not designing houses

My original idea was "We Are Design." I started a thread about that a few days ago. Maybe I should just change that name to "We Are Designs" since the domain name wearedesign.com might be a problem, and wearedesigns.com is free.

If there is a domain taken already and you plan on getting the same domain but adding the S, if you're doing this as a personal website then ok...but as a business I wouldn't.
It'd be like me starting a company and registering targett.com or targets.com. Guess where my potential clients will be shopping? Even if I were selling something random that target didn't sell. If I stumble on target's site by mistake then most likely I'll browse that and lose sight of the task at hand.

I like "we are design" although it's kind of like...umm ok I guess you are design. You're a web designer, let's see something more creative then adding an S to an already established domain name.
While this isn't a creative suggestion (creative is hard to do with domains, but it beats adding an S to something that is already done) johnbrodesigns?

You could find a really cool, artist-y word and then add "Design" after it. That's all up to you, but a (sort of) example is Panic software.

Why are you so obsessed with your name? It is not going to convince me to buy your services. Especially not when the 3rd reference on your about page is from your teacher. Grow up!! It doesn't matter how brilliant the name of your company is, any client worth dealing with, will disregard your company as soon as he sees that you have "designed" your entire company page in Flash.

I am not trying to be nasty but I really think that someone who is trying to start a professional webdesign company, should really have mastered the basics of xhtml, css & javascript.

Forget about the name, it's crap. Read some books (Castro, Zeldman & Keith are good authors to start with). Gain some knowledge. If you still want to start a webdesign company, so be it. But this, "I can't decide what to call my webdesign company is bollox." It is the least of your problems!
