When purchasing my TiBook, I knew that the Rev. B (667) update was coming soon, thanks to this site, but since it was a required purchase at the time, I went ahead and bout the Rev. A.

Several months ago, I did a search for "1GHz iMac" on Yahoo! That search led me to macrumors.com. And guess what arrived at my door yesterday? Yup, a new 17" Superdrive-equipped 1 GHz iMac.

So, yes, rumors (and this site specifically) have definitely affected my purchases.

I was ready to buy a TIBook last October. I was about to order and then I read the rumor pages. I waited for the 1Ghz and I am really glad that I did. (Even though the AlumBooks are out now, I couldn't have waited two more months.)

It is kindof sad that sometimes it really holds back my purchases until later dates, when most often nothing comes out. But otherwise, yes.

For the most part. In many cases I have waited for a product that never materialized, but that forced me to stretch out the life of whatever Mac I wanted to replace.

I guess the main benefit of rumors has been reminding me not to get to sure about any purchase being top of the line for more than a day. Thank god.

I like reading the rumors it has kept me from purchasing a Power Mac prematurely. So far most of the rumors have been acurate, thanks!

Yes, they have helped me make better purchases. For example,
I bought a PC because it was a better choice at the time. If the
970 had been coming out in the next month though, it would
have been a bad purchase. But MacRumors (and other rumors
sites) informed me that I shouldn't expect the 970 that quickly.
Hence, my PC. ;)

i have not used this site to make a decision to purchase although i know that when i have to money to switch i will look here first.

I do appreciate all the friendly advice and info on MR and it does help me make informed decisions. So far I haven't bought anything but when I do I am sure I'll make a better decision than if I hadn't been part of the MR experience. :D
