I was too. Then I realized we were all scared, each in our own homes. Then I felt that sense of community - we were all in it together - and felt better. :)

I recommend logging into the Apple store and buying large amounts of equipment you don't need. This has the double benefit in giving you multiple pieces of hardware; you can then create whining threads about each of them and how if Apple continues to treat customers like this, it will surely go out of business, and God help me but Dell would never do this, and so on, and this will last you until the next forum downtime, at which time you can repeat the process.

The other major option which seems compelling is masturbation.

An error on the core something page on line 279 i think. If you bothered to look at the SQL error in the source code you had on the database page

I think it was a hardware failure (nic card/cable) - at least that's what my provider thinks. they're looking into it. we're patched up at the moment.

Sorry to hear, but glad we're up. Things like user queries (http://forums.macrumors.com/member.php?u=31008) worked until we were logged out, even when we couldn't see posts.

I didn't even notice the server outage. Since each of my posts is a 1000-word essay, and I spend hours composing each and every sentence, I was busy typing in a text box and editing words the whole time, and the forums were working just fine by the time I finally clicked Submit Reply. ;)

You know the old saying that a picture is worth 1000 words? Well smilies are on special and are only worth 425 a piece. ;) Using the same rules his very post qualifies as one thousand words too, not fifty, including the quote.

The really scary thing is that I had already pasted your post into Word to see that it was 644 words (without the title).

The really scary thing is that I had already pasted your post into Word to see that it was 644 words (without the title). So it is exactly 1000 words, after rounding.

WildCowboy
Jun 21, 2006, 08:56 PM
So it is exactly 1000 words, after rounding.

It depends on how you're rounding. If you round to the nearest 10,000 words, your post contains exactly nothing.

It depends on how you're rounding. If you round to the nearest 10,000 words, your post contains exactly nothing.

I just rounded his post number off to the nearest 100,000.

Thus I read this post instead.
