View Full Version : Game Creation + RPG = Big Headache -- C[Slice]/Lucent Sword - Open Source Now

Ok I can't make an RPG, there's so much work involved, that being at just 0.2.5b I see there's a lot of work to do and I don't know a lot about memory allocation (so when I deallocate other memory it messes up whats in other memory blocks - e.g. I delete all the tiles when loading a new level so they are fresh and have a different memory set right? well when I delete those blocks is screws up a char pointer I have setup. It's horrible. Anyways so my RPG - Lucent Sword / C[Slice] is now up for grabs for all those who want to use it. Here's a zipped version of the source:

WARNING: This file is 19.3MB zipped so its huge:
XCode 2.3 (is that the latest?) required
SDL_image
SDL_mixer
SDL
are the libraries required to compile the application. Sorry you guys, I thought I could do it, but there's so much about memory that I need to know in order for it to work successfully. If anyone can do a better job, please make it freeware if you use this code. We need some good RPG's for Mac OS X.

I knew there was a reason why many RPGs cost so much time and resources to develop. ;)
