View Full Version : Leopard Screenshots?

There have been a number of Leopard mock-up pics floating around the web. They all just crave attention! I can't believe some of you guys have bought this one! Do your homework and SEARCH for 'em. Most of them even look the same! (But in this case, some are uglier than others.) First of all, you can easily remove the brushed-metal GUI from the Finder with a simple application called UNO. Check it out:
http://gui.interacto.net/
Also, here's a well-made one that caught my eye: (Also confirmed as FAKE.)

Obviously someone is very skilled in photoshop. :D :D ;)

By now if the photos were real Apple's legal department would have already forced them to be taken down.
Not necessarily, if they did that it would be admitting that they where real.

I don't think so, because (assuming they're not fake) if they do it now it will be confirming them as real, but limiting the number of people who see it (anyone who re-posts them after being taken down could face legal action). If they, don't practically the entire mac community and some others will see it and when Leopard finally comes out it will be a big disapointment because we would already know what features it had.
It doesn't matter if Apple Legal admit to the pictures being real, because when Leopard comes out it will all become clear anyway.

Aside from 7 of us nerds here at MacRumors who've used unix iterations with this who in the real world would even get that concept?
Don't be so condescending. It adds nothing to the discussion.
Dude I was calling myself a nerd. I certainly intended no offense. Peace.

Well, I placed a vote for "real" just because I was excited to see anything related to Leopard. But based on others comments & observations, it seems clear that they are fake...
Would any Linux users mind explaining the benefit of multiple desktops? While it sounds interesting, I don't see what value it adds.
The main benefit, especially with SmackBook installed, is that you can go on the net and **** around in class and just tap your computer n the side to go to your 'school' desktop :)

It'd be a beta, not even a beta some internal developer build probably, aka beta of a beta.
That would be known as pre-beta or alpha release in windows world.

It's supposed to have something to do with the windows virtualization, like the classic icon that used to be in the toolbar.
The logo looks like that because it's similar to the boot-camp design.

All I will say is (and all of you people who are also under NDA you can eat me because this isn't illegal to say) It doesn't simply say "10.5" under About This Mac before the product is in final testing. Nobody here is that dumb.
Secondly, he admits they are fake so why is there still an ingenious poll here?
Sorry, this sort of stuff annoys me. For the record, it's not the users here that admittedly don't know but it's the people who blindly accept this stuff or even corroborate the fake stuff.

what's with this close a thread when your done with it attitude, if you dont want to participate in the thread then dont post in it anymore, in some other forums they seem to close 90% of threads for random reasons ranging from the original question being answered to the mods disagreeing with someone and throwing a hissy fit, this is part of the reason macrumors is the forum i spend most my time on

Why don't people read the thread properly before posting?
I've just read it from where i last posted and there must be about 30 posts saying exactly the same things.... :(

Easy bud, I'm not in any way saying that it should be closed because I'm done with it. I'm merely saying that it should be closed becase the thread was started with a poll and the topic of screenshots that have proven to be fake. Therefore, making the poll void and the topic senseless. It may be just my opinion, but I think arn and the mods like to keep a certain standard here. That's why this is the ONLY forum I spend time on. Quite frankly, I agree with you when you say "if you don't want to participate, then don't post" I have mentioned that before as well in other threads. There are a lot of threads that I don't post in for that reason. This particular one has merrit for closure IMO. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but when it has been stated that the screenshots are fake by the one who posted them in the first place, and people still want to substantiate the credibility of them - it just seems pointless. I'm done with this thread.

Look at the two screen shots. In the first not only is there a lineup issue, it's a different font.
The second close up of the dock tells all. Note the obvious "paste lines" around that Explorer icon.
Someone went through a LOT of trouble to fool 28% of you!

If people still want to discuss this, I think that they shoild be able to. Even though the screenshots are definitely fake, some people ave other things to say, for instance whether they'd like leopard to look like it does in the screenshots or not.

Me? I just have a blast seeing how people keep giving opinion on whether they're fake or not. We just even got someone polishing his Photoshop skills to shows us what had been said a hundred times already and someone who just decided 100% fake was not enough, and thought something can be several times faker than "100% fake" already means, so tacked a few orders of magnitude in the percentage.
And well, the people thinking it's real keep giving their opinion :)
I personally don't want Leopard finder look like it, I thought it looked tacky and rushed, personally.

I agree.
This is MacRumors, and this is a rumor, and I don't think it's a correct rumor, but people should be allowed to comment on it.

why not employ forum nazis which keep people talking only about what the op started and NOTHING ELCE, oh and if the topic takes a new direction then that thread should be closed and LOCKED FOREVER.
if your done with it good for you, if others are not then leave them be. that is what the "unsubscribe from thread" link is for.

Some neat little features there that I really hope do make it into Leopard. I just hope that PowerPC users won't be left out in the rain here with the possible Windows stuff - something like reverse Rosetta?
Shame they are fake though!

Alright guys... a few people have voted to close the thread, and since it doesn't seem like a terribly bad idea since the topic of conversation seems to still be centered around is it fake or not (which we of course know it IS fake), then I'm going to close the thread.
