Maybe I'm just dumb but "North America (not Canada or US)" isn't that basically the same as mexico. Maybe this is how my teachers just taught us geography but we learned all the island nations and the countires past and sometimes even include mexico as Central America rather than a part of North America maybe thats jsut me tho.

I was thinking the same thing, but I think arn's grouping central America with North America in this case.

Actually, Antartica is not on the poll. It may be the "Other" choice. So, is anyone posting from Antartica?

Central America is not a continent; it is part of North America!!
They named it Central America so people can locate Mexico, Nations south of Mexico, and The Caribbean Nations easier on the map!! :p ;)

Everyone should simply list the region that they are from. North America, USA

WhenI saw the question, before going to see the choices, I had assumed this was going to be DVD region codes. This may or may not indicate how pathetic I am.

I met a guy from Guatemala who was perturbed that Americans do not typically recognize central America. I know I am guilty of that....

did you ever think about the fact that many asians do not speak english and most of them don't use macs?!
Apple has an unbelievably small market share in asia because people there are looking for cheap crappy computers not expensive works of art...
Besides the people most likely to spend time on a mac rumor site are people from the US (United States).

Actually, I just returned from Asia about three weeks ago, and I do agree with you that most Asians do not speak English, but most of them can read it!!!!

You are also right that most Asians do not own a Mac, but there are a lot of people on Mac Rumors that do not have a Mac and still post!!!

So before you start tying about stuff that you don?t know about?..do your homework!!
 ;) :p

i'm from asia and i take offense in what you've said.. most ppl in asian DO speak english (i'm talking about east asia here.. taiwan, korea, japan, hong kong, singapore, etc... not russia or pakistan or the middle east)

u say that people in asia are looking for cheap crappy computers not expensive works of art?? so ppl in the US are looking for expensive works of art? that doesn't explain why sub-$700 computers and companies like emachines exist, nor why apple has less than a 5% marketshare... the reason that apple has an unbelieveably small marketshare in asia (excluding japan) is because marketing in asia is practically nonexistant and support is terrible.. apple should do to the rest of asia what they did in japan.. in japan, apple has an even higher marketshare than in the US.. thus asians clearly are NOT all looking for "cheap crappy computers"

having lived in both asia and the US extensively, i have to say that asia (again, meaning east asia) is FAR more advanced in terms of consumer technologies.. for example, cell phone usage/phones/services, broadband usage, electronic gadgets.. heck, even public transportation in asia makes the US look like a joke

sorry.. i'm not being racist here or anything of the sort.. i'm just upset at the misconceptions that some ppl have about asia, and i'd like to set some things straight.. asia is NOT full of backwards and undeveloped 3rd world countries with tons of peasants and poor ppl roaming the streets.. it is a highly developed region that in many ways is far ahead of the US techonologicall.. remember where most macs are made!
