This is a feeler, but I'm probably going to sell this within the next few weeks, even sooner if someone is interested.

This computer is literally pristine. It doesn't even have a top full of surface scratches like most of them do, especially G3's!

Here's the specs:

14" iBook G3 900Mhz
640MB RAM (128+512)
40GB HD
Combo Drive (only used about 5 times)
2 Power adapters

Like I said, perfect condition! I'm 99% sure we still have the box as well. Everything feels super sturdy, and these iBook G3 keyboards definitely own the G4 ones. Anyone looking for a super sturdy computer with a nice bright and clear LCD will be getting a bargain here.

Also, this computer is still cover under Applecare for 82 more days!!! I believe I can transfer this, but will definitely call Apple to make sure before selling the computer if you wish.

This iBook has had very little use over the years.

Anyway, let me know via PM if you're interested we can work something out.

Ryan

Wow, looks pretty nice. If the price is right, I might be interested in getting it for my sister.

Thanks. :) It is nice, I got it for my grandma to use, but now she wants my 12" G4, so if the MacBooks look good, I might have to use this as a chance to upgrade.

EDIT: Pictures coming tomorrow.

I hate to disappoint everyone, but if I'm going to sell this, it means I'll have to sell my 1.33Ghz 12" iBook G4 as well, and upgrade to a MacBook.

While the MacBooks look tempting, there are still way too many issues for me, so as of right now, it doesn't look like I'll be selling this. I hate the yellowed palm rests, whining, mooing, etc.

You may have noticed that I stressed how perfect this iBook G3 was, that's because these little things bother me, and I will only accept literally perfect computers when I buy one from Apple, and I just don't believe I will be able to do that at this point with a MacBook.

When this becomes available at a later date (MB Rev. b?) I will re-bring this thread and PM those who were interested, just to see if you still are.

So again, sorry to everyone who was interested, I shouldn't have posted this until I thought more about getting a MacBook.

I don't blame you Ryan. I'm the same exact way. My computers need to be problem free if I'm going to spend that kind of money. My roommate got a macbook on Wed of this week and it worked great the day she got it. However, it has since started mooing and whining. The whine has actually gotten louder over time. I was thinking about getting a MacBook again or a MacBook Pro, but after seeing this I have changed my mind. I think I may get a Thinkpad T60 instead... sad :(

Same here as well. I'd love to have a new MacBook, but I've been blessed with a 100% perfect PowerBook. It is more than fast enough for what I use it for, the perfect size, looks great, runs nice and cool, great battery life, no AirPort signal issues, just an all around great machine. I, too, feel that it would be nearly impossible to acquire what I would consider a satisfactory MacBook at this time.

Same, I have a 12" 1.33Ghz iBook G4 with 60GB HD, 1GB RAM, and it's perfect....no problems to complain about, plenty fast for what I use it for (which sometimes pushes it quite far). I can span with the hack, when I need to (not very often)...it's just not appealing to me right now to ditch this for something that has such a high risk of being problematic. I realize some people love theirs and are not having problems, but I have like computer OCD, and everything must be perfect or I cannot stand using it.

I went through this with my PC laptops...getting one that's the right quality, then afraid to try another one. Never thought I would go through this with Apple, but it looks like I am. Oh well, I still love them. :p
