Ok guys here I go again :
I need a PC laptop
my budget is under $1,000 USD Shipped to Canada:(
I don't want a Celeron processor,
at least 1.5GHZ
at least 13 inch screen
and a graphics card with 64VRAM
at least 512 mb RAM
hard drive space, battery life, huge weight I don't care about. It does not need to be portable.
Oh and NO DELLS...
What I care about is the ability to run Win XP Pro and play Morrowind ( if I am going to get a PC I might as well get one that lets me play my favorite game)
I am willing to get a desktop if it is not one of those huge suckers but it will have able to play more recent games (ie Oblivion) and the shipping wont be ridiculous.
So if you guys have a PC you want to sell please PM me.
If I missed one of you guys last time I apologize I had over 38 offers , some fair , some BS , some way out there. :o

I've got this for sale. I'm asking $1000 Canadian, and we can negotiate on the price and shipping details.
IBM Thinkpad R51
1.6ghz Pentium M
512 mb DDR 333 Ram
60gb Hard Drive
Wireless B and G
14.1" Screen 1024x768 resolution
Windows XP Home (Certificate/CDkey on bottom)
Microsoft Wireless Optical Notebook Mouse 3000 included.
PM me here, and I'll give you my e-mail(I don't post it on forums because of spam).
EDIT: It only has 32mb Video ram for an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000, Although I've played Halflife 2 without any problems on it. I've never tried Oblivion. Although you'll probably be hard-pressed to find a laptop under US$1000 that will be able to run it efficiently.

I don't think that there will be any laptop offered that can run Oblivion
but I am willing to get a desktop that can in the same price range.
While space is at a premium I will have more room once I sell some of my unused gear.

Stranger, I'm assuming you already have some sort of Mac since you're on this forum...
Why don't you sell whatever you have (Powerbook, et cetera?) and buy a Macbook and an Xbox 360?
The notebook could run any software you would need and the Xbox is the best product Microsoft has ever made. I don't think that Morrowind is on the backward compatible list yet, but Oblivion is amazing.
(I'm sure you've already though about this, but I can't help but try!)

I have a number of macs , my most recent aquisition is a 15" PB maxed out so I can't justify getting a brand new macbook pro for what I do... unless someone wants to trade my PB plus cash for a mac book pro 2.0 ghz...
* must play Oblivion * ....

Good thing you don't care about size as this thing is BIG. Also, battery doesn't hold a charge.

Maybe you're better off buying a Xbox 360 and picking up a copy of Morrowwind for the Xbox and Oblivion for the 360.

I know that it would be much cheaper but I do need the PC for my school work/research, some of the apps I use wont run on mac or in VPC7 and they need Win XP Pro SP2.
The game part is my mental compromise for buying a PC. :D
I am tempted to sell my PB and get a macbook pro but I need to run classic for a couple other apps I use for school...arghh!!!
I might get a Xbox360 later on down the line.
I have a xbox already and I have morrowind for it. I just like to be able to mod my games

Yes I use all of those : Mas OS 7.5, 9.2 ,10.3.8 and 10.4.7 , Win 95,98 and XP SP2, Solaris, Debian and one other server one that I can't remember...it is no wonder that computer skills was one of my job requirements... and that is not even a primary requirement.
