I've been really happy with my lapinator, so I thought I'd write a quick review. I encourage others to post their experiences as well.

For those of you who don't know, the lapinator is a passive lap cooling device for use with a laptop -- err, notebook -- computer. Their website is here (a bit cheaper if you buy on ebay): http://www.lapinator.com/ They cost around $25 shipped.

So yeah, it is quite comfortable -- soft and well-balanced on my lap. At first, I didn't use the attachable feet, which raise the back of the computer up a bit. Without the feet, my MBP slid around a bit, but once I attached the feet it didn't slid around at all. I can't say that the slightly lifted back seems better to me, but nor does it seem worse -- it is a rather slight difference.

I haven't done careful tests, but the computer definitely feels cooler on the surface when I am using the lapinator.

I also had amazing service from the company. I lost the attachable feet. They sent me two new pairs the same day, free of charge (I didn't even pay shipping). Overall, very friendly and helpful, promply responding to a couple of questions (one while he was on vacation!).

I've had the lapinator for a couple of months now and absolutely love it. Can't say much about it making the computer cooler, but it definitely keeps my lap cooler! I'd rate it a must-have accessory for a MBP.
