I noticed this weekend that a lot of sources of 60GB iPods were out of stock, with only the 30GB. That made me wonder if the reports earlier in the spring that resellers had been instructed to clear stock meant that the new top end revision was coming this week.
Of course, it could just be MacBook sleeves...
...or new and improved iKlear II with anti-yellowing ingredients.

It has to be something *rather* significant to have the store down, does it not? When they added the new U2 ipod, the store didnt go down. Minor updates and price changes dont make it go down.
That being said, it most likely is Xserve, followed by MacPro. I highly doubt there are going to be any new laptops (unless there was a new form factor released, and we would have heard rumors of such a thing)

This "down page" is obviously generic, as when you click any of the links; it takes you away from the country specific site. So when you click the store link, you’re on the USA store. Bad.

Something to do with the iSight and AirPort Extreme

"To complie with EU regulations, Apple's iSight camera and AirPort Extreme base station have been removed from the Apple Store's across Europe (which was why the store was down this morning)"
I wonder what regulations they were in violation of.

I was hpojng for new PowerMacs (or whatever they would be called). I mean, Dell has alrady released their Woodcrest-based workstations: Link (http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/client/precn_490_690?c=fi&l=fi&s=gen). Apple could release the Woodcrest-Mac today, and save the mini-tower/pizzabox for WWDC :).
The Dells in your link are not using Woodcrest.

Someone else probably makes one similar, therefore you don't need two choices, only one will do.

There's no "violation" per se.
It's a new environmental policy in the EU..Certain chemicals used in the Airport,eMac etc.. can't be sold anymore..

Yes they are. They are using 5000-series Xeons, and 5000-series is the Woodcrest that was just announced today. Those Dells were used for benchmarking in intel.com where they talk of the new Xeons. Also, those Dells are using FB-DIMM memory, something that Woodcrest uses.

from wikipedia
On 23 May 2006, Intel released the Dual-Core Xeon codenamed Dempsey. Released as the Dual-Core Xeon 5000-series, Dempsey is a NetBurst processor built on a 65 nm process, and is virtually identical to Intel's "Presler" Pentium Extreme Edition, except for SMP support, which lets Dempsey operate in dual-processor systems. Dempsey ranges between 2.67 and 3.73 GHz (model numbers 5030-5080). Some models have a 667 MT/s FSB, and others have a 1066 MT/s FSB. Dempsey has 4 MiB of L2 Cache (2 MiB per core). A Medium Voltage model, at 3.2 GHz and 1066 MT/s FSB (model number 5063), has also been released. Dempsey also introduces a new interface for Xeon processors: Socket J, also known as LGA 771.

Woodcrest is 5100 series.
And I consider 5100 to be part of 5000-series. Besides, looking at the "Configure it" page of 690 I can clearly see these CPU's listed as options:
Dual Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5080 3.73GHz, 2 X 2MB L2,1066
Dual Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5060 3.20GHz, 2 X 2MB L2,1066
Dual Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5050 3.00GHz, 2 X 2MB L2, 667
Dual Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5160 3.00GHz, 4MB L2,1333
Dual Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5150 2.66GHz, 4MB L2,1333
Dual Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5140 2.33GHz, 4MB L2,1333
Dual Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5130 2.00GHz, 4MB L2,1333
Dual Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5120 1.86GHz, 4MB L2,1066
Dual Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5110 1.60GHz, 4MB L2,1066

Direct link (http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=555&l=en&oc=MLB1726&s=biz) Those ARE Woodcrests in there. Yep, there are few NetBurst-Xeons there as well, but Woodcrest is the big thing here.

The online store is now up. I have not noticed any change by quickly glancing over the pages. I was hoping some price drop for MBP and MB...........

You are quite right there. However, in your previous link, despite my best efforts, I could find no references to any 5100 series Xeons.

It was just a short news-release of sorts about the new workstations.
