I used to check Rolling Stone but they stopped doing the whole "influences, followers" thing where if you really liked one band you could see any number of bands that they were modelled after and the ones that followed them. This put me on to tons of new bands to say the least. Oh ya, and a good review of indie or lesser known bands also help me dig a little.
