Apple's website says to use 5300 ram but what about 5400?

I bought the 5300 one when it was 75 dollars and free shipping but the 5400 one has people commenting about installing the ram in their macbooks as well? Did I do a stupid thing by buying the 5300?

it's a typo, no such thing as pc5400

even if thier was and it was like 675MHz it would only run at 667 anyway.

There is such a thing as pc2-5400 ram. It will work fine in a macbook, but it wouldn't run any faster than pc2-5300. Your paying more for speed you can't take advantage of.

some brands call their ddr2-667 pc2-5400, even though ACTUAL pc2-5400 runs at 675mhz. that stuff'll work fine
