Current Lineup:
AMD Athlon 1ghz / 128 mb Ram / 80 gig HD / 19" old CRT
- Web surfing, listening to music, printing files, some photoshop
iMac 15" G4 800mhz / 512 mb Ram / 60 gig HD / Superdrive
- Video Editing (primary,) MS Powerpoint, secondary net-browser/word processor
HP Pavilion Laptop 600mhz P3 / 64 mb Ram / 7 gig HD
- Work. Mainly document design and layout.
Powerbook G4 867mhz / 256 mb Ram / 40 gig HD / Combo Drive
- In a (sad) way, kinda on the bench right now. Actually it's going to be the centerpiece of a studio I'll be building this summer when it's coupled with a 23" cinema HD Display, and it won't get removed from that spot until a PowerPC 970 comes along that can blow it away without giving me third-degree burns from the hole it left in my pocket.
Anyways, the premise is I have roughly 300 bucks to spend (and it's a gift / must-spend scenario) and I was wondering what the coolest gadgets/handheld devices/peripherals could be had in this price range, PC or Mac.
Your thoughts are appreciated, as I continue to browse cross-platform myself.
