I need to make some custom, very flexable Certificates and cards.... Is there any program like MS Publisher that will do this? I would like a free solution, however I know you get what you pay for. Anything close?

Not free, but good. Also embodies the Mac experience of intuitiveness and ease of use. Swift Publisher (http://www.belightsoft.com/products/swiftpublisher/overview.php)

Don't forget The Print Shop (http://www.mackiev.com/print_shop.html).

If you prefer, there's Print Explosion Deluxe 3.0 for Mac (http://www.macmall.com/macmall/shop/detail.asp?source=MWBAPPLE&store=macmall&dpno=7019778&adcampaign=email,MWBAPPLE&wt.mc_id=MWBAPPLE).

Apple Pages (http://www.apple.com/iwork/pages/) for sure, it's part of iWork. Easiest to use for beginners, and powerful enough that a long-time QuarkXPress user (such as myself) uses it quite frequently.
