Macnn (http://www.macnn.com/news.php?id=18636) has posted a story from the Charlotte Business Journal stating that Apple will open a retial store in the Southpark Mall. My question is...WHEN? This is great for those of us in SC. The two closest Apple retail stores are in Durham, NC (5 hours from Columbia) and Atlanta, GA (4 hours from Columbia). With the Charlotte store opening it will be only 1.5 -2 hours away. I guess I'll get to go to my first Apple Store Opening.
If anyone has any details on when this store will be opeing please let me known. Thanks!

It would be nice if Apple would just put a store SOMEWHERE in SC. The only 3 locations I can imagine them putting one is either Spartanburg/Greenville area, Charleston or Columbia. Though I'd put my money now on Charleston. It would be too close to put one in Spart/GV area with a Charlotte store and I can't see Apple putting a store in Columbiana or (especially) Columbia Mall.
Still, if anyone has any info on when this store will open please post it. Thanks!

Yea, I got really excited when I read the news about this the other day. I live only 30 minutes outside of Charlotte. I never could understand why they didn't already have a store here. Why Durham over Charlotte? Charlotte is the largest city in the Carolinas. Also, if I were Apple, I'd be sticking that store in Concord Mills Mall, but hey Southpark isn't too bad at all :)
I can't wait!!!

Well when you find out when it's supposed to open let us know! :D I'm willing to drive 2 hours to go to the Apple store. It sure beats the 4 hour drive to Atlanta.

Will do. But you would think that Apple would post future openings on their website.
