I will be in a few days. I'd love to see a list of Macrumors members who want to play tetris.

Turn on the game, choose Wi-Fi, choose Friend Settings, choose Confirm Friend code, and type it out like so:

Tetris DS is awesome.

My one complaint is that if you're playing online and one player drops out, the game automatically ends- which is really annoying when you wait ages to get four players matched up, play one round, and someone loses early and quits and the game ends after the first match.

I guess its time to dust off tetris DS and give it a go online then.

You've never played a Tetris multiplayer! mad.
basically, in the normal mode whenever you clear a line it appears on the opponents game. makes things very frantic.

As you clear lines, sometimes it tosses them on to the bottom of your opponents' screen (the lines it adds to your opponents has one hole in it that they can use to clear it). If you get a Tetris (clear four lines at once) it automatically bumps up four lines underneath the opponents your opponent, which they can clear with a well placed straight block if they can get to it.

Additionally, every once in a while one of the squares in one of your Tetris blocks will be a question mark block. If you clear the line with that block in it, you get an item- pressing X uses that item.

Sometimes it's simple, like preventing your opponent from seeing what block he's getting next, or wiping out the bottom two lines on your screen. Othertimes it is totally devastating, like making all of your opponents' blocks freeze (can't rotate), or fall at extremely high speeds.

In four player mode, with everyone getting items, the competition gets furious.

In the last week I've been sick with the stomach flu and mastered Tetris DS. Right now I've got a marathon running (I played until I was too tired to play anymore last night, then put the DS on sleep mode, I'll continue today). I left off at level 91 with over 2 million points and 900 lines cleared.

As raggedjimmi already said, When you clear 2, 3 or 4 (Tetris) lines in one shot, those lines are transferred to your opponents'. You can also use items in some modes. Items produces effect that can help you or annoy your opponent:

Boo: Opponents' can't see their next five Tetrimino.
Banana: Columns of your opponents' are randomly shuffled.
Lightning: Opponents' Tetriminos can't be rotated.
Shell: Bottom two lines are deleted.
Starman: Immunity to opponents' attacks, and you only get "I" Tetrimino.

Thanks for the explanations. I've only played single player tetris on the net.
