View Full Version : A new HDD improved my screen???

Yes I know it sounds impossible, but I have no other idea. I put a 100GB HDD into my MB (exact same brand - Seagate - as the stock one that came with my MB) and like anyone else I used the backup of my User/Library folder to restore the settings, preferences, etc.

Well I used my personalised colour profile from my 60GB HDD and when I restarted I noticed my screen seems deeper in colour, clearer or sharper.

No it's not me and it's not a placebo. I'm just not sure how this could be though.

I know this sounds stupid, but do you have it set to the custom profile? You may have to redo it.

By the way... a placebo is a sugar pill. It does nothing to you.

Actually, a placebo is any inactive pill, liquid, or powder that has no treatment value but makes you feel "better". The placebo effect can be expanded past the physical human condition to encompass changes you make to things that make them feel different in a positive way.

Yes I do have the monitor set to my custom profile, that's exactly why I noticed the difference.

I don't get it. It just doesn't make sense.

I'm glad it's better and not worse though. :)
