I've been trying to open and burn a bin. an cue. file to dvd but with no success. Toast advise to open copy then left drawer to image file and then drop bin or cue file to window, but each time i try that the Image file draw drop to bin/cue file and I get this message when I press the Burn button:
" CD-rom XA or audio track cannot be written to DVD. Can anyone assist me. Thanks.

It's pretty much as the error states - "CD-rom XA or audio track cannot be written to DVD". You can't write CD tracks to a DVD. Try burning with a CD and see if that helps.

If you're trying to burn it to DVD, I'll infer from that this is probably some movie or vidoe you have downloaded. If this is the case, is this possibly a VCD instead then?

Drag the .cue file (must be in the same folder as the .bin) to Toast and burn to CD - 793MB is most likely a SVCD image make sure you use an 80 min. CD-R.

i'm having the same problem!!

In Toast, I clicked Copy at the top then click "Bin/Cue Files" in the tray on the left. Dragged the .cue file into Toast.

after i did that, i hit the red button to record.. it said "CD-Rom XA or Audio Tracks cannot be recorded to DVD"

i downloaded a movie, and the folder came with the .bin and .cue files, and i have been trying to burn them onto a DVD to watch on my big screen.

please help us

Did you try the above advice?

it worked!

i used a blank CD-R instead of DVD-R. why did it burn to a CD and not DVD? should i return the brand new 50pack of DVD-R i just bought and get CD-R instead? or will there ever be a time when i need to burn onto the DVD-Rs?

As already described above (did you read any of the thread before posting? :p ;)) it was a VCD/SVCD. Use your DVD-Rs when burning DVDs. Use CD-Rs for burning CDs. Plain and simple.

not only did i read this thread before posting, i searched 3 diff mac forums, google, and ripdifferent!

the thing is.. i am very new to this and i figured since it was a movie, it would go to a DVD, i had no idea what a VCD/SVCD even was.

but still, thanks for all the help

no need for apologies. i did not take it as an insult. i could tell it was good natured. :D

plus, just cuz i am a newbie in the mac world, doesnt mean i am a newbie in every aspect. i am on a couple other forums, and would probly get annoyed with someone like me.. so i appreciate all the patience and help!

Glad to hear it - you'd be surprised (and have probably experienced it on your other Forums) how seriously some people take things. ;)

As I said, don't hesitate to post further questions if you have any.

CD-ROM XA or audio tracks cannot be written to dvd

Hey,

I'm new with mac and the dvd burner. Having problem when i try to burn the movies on my hard disk to DVD, Error msg:"CD-ROM XA or audio tracks cannot be written to dvd.” 1) have tried Save As Disc Image and mount it but still does work on Toast 8 2)Cant convert the bin/cue pair of files to an iso and then use the native Mac OS X DiskUtility to burn the image.(anynone how to use the DiskUtility?) 3) how to use the MACripper? I have a lot of movies in my hard disk any taking up a lot of space. Thought that DVD burner could help but now having problem. Some even say I can convert the vcd to dvd.

Help anyone.
