Hi all!

After a bit of research I've decided to buy Panny DVC30 camcorder, which costs £1400 in UK. Apparently it just comes around £900 in US. As it is a bit of bargain, am planning to get it from US with a mate.

Wondering if anyone had experiences/problems with this kind of purchase.

Any input appreciated. Many thanks in advance

I don't have any experience with that camera, but Panasonic has been putting out some really nice equipment the last few years, Sony has been the big boy for a long time, but Panasonic is giving them some competition.

As for any particular model, consider what features you need. Does it have xlr inputs for pro audio? Does it record analog signal for transferring footage from old sources? Does it have a good manual focus? Make sure any camera you buy is the one you want with the features you want. It's a big purchase, so don't settle.

*Forgot something:

If you are planning to buy it in a country other than that which you plan to use it, be sure yuo're buying the right format. And make sure you're not getting a grey market item. You want to be sure you have warranty coverage, and won't run into any compatibility issues.
