OK, so I just upgraded my PowerBook's HDD to 120GB from 80GB. I've migrated all of my data and settings and still have a whopping 50GB of space left on this drive. Needless to say, it's nice to have a little bit of breathing room. :)
PowerBook specs:
- 1.5 GHz G4
- 1.5 GB RAM (2GB soon, maybe)
- 128 MB Radeon 9700 Mobility
I'm planning to (finally) install a few games on this thing:
- Quake 3
- WarCraft III
- Neverwinter Nights
- nethack (http://www.nethack.org/)
- Solitaire XL (http://www.lavacat.com/)
Am I missing something obvious or essential? What do you play on the road?
I'm not a big MMO fan, nor do I always have a 'net connection handy, so WoW is out of the question.

I havent put any games on the PB yet. But i will most likely put in WCIII and Doom3
if i do any gaming its usually on the G5.
I still have the 80GB HD and ive got about 29 gigs left :)
( mostly because i have a 250GB lacie drive, a 40GB lacie drive, and 238GB free on my G5 :) )

My Powerbook sucks anus at playing games. I had MOH:AA, but I couldn't get more than 20 FPS on low settings... it was horrible.
That's when I gave up gaming and went back to the PC world for a bit.

Did you do it yourself? What did it cost?
I have about 5GB free out of 80 on my PowerBook and wouldn't mind the breathing room of a larger drive either.

Did you do it yourself? What did it cost? No, I didn't. I took it to a local reseller (Apple-authorized for service) and had them do the job for me. Cost right at $300 USD, incl. labor and tax.
I was really impressed ... I dropped off the laptop, shopped around a bit, and walked out with an upgraded laptop 30 minutes later. :) Anyone in or near Huntsville, AL should definitely check out Mac Resource.
