I met this guy's music partner (Todd the Terrible) that raps as well when he worked for my parents but I can't find any of his music. :( They are local rappers in Anchorage. Todd's music is in some extreme snowmobiling video but I can't think of it right now. I thought this song sounded pretty good.

Actually I haven't, but I was thinking about it, mostly for El-P's production (I'm not saying Mr. Lif isn't good, I haven't listened to him very much, he's been good on the guest spots I've heard him on). People seem to like it. But what I'm really looking forward to is hiw own new, and Cannibal Ox's new.

Have you heard Everything Must Go? It's the only song off of I'll Sleep When You're Dead that he's released.

I agree that Ridin' is a bit more hip pop than hip hop (i still like that song though), but not all the music on his newest album is. I think The Sound Of Revenge is an exellent album (it only just came out in the UK). They don't call Chamillionaire 'The Mixtape Messiah' for nothing.

Why do they call him "The Mixtape Messiah"? Just because he was to lazy to come out with his own original material? There is nothing wrong with making a mixtape or two, but why make a lot of mixtapes and not spend time creating your own music? Probably why he didn't blow the ****** up until he released Ridin'. Let me ask you, would you of even bought his record if you haven't of heard Ridin'?

Yeah, I love 'Underground' and 'How Bad Do You Want It' by KRS-One. Too bad iTunes only has the clean versions.

Anyway, for some more songs of the day;

Bankhead
T.I., P$C & Young Dro
King

Growing Pains
Ludacris, Lil' Fate & Keon Bryce
Word Of Mouf

Word Of Mouf by Ludacris is my favourite album of all time, it shows because 7 of my 25 most played songs on iTunes are from it
King by T.I. is also excellent and, together, those 2 albums only have 3 or 4 skipable songs between them.
Also Ludacris has a new album coming out August, called 'Release Therapy' which will be great even if it is only half as good as his 4 others.

I'm working on this rap song just for fun with a few friends and the hook is seeming to be a problem. I decided to try and sample some stuff for it and I made two different versions.

I was wondering if you guys could maybe listen to these 2 30 second hooks and tell me if you think either are ok, or what I could to do to improve them. This isn't gonna be a song were selling or anything it's just for fun so not a big deal, I'd just like to get it ok.

And I've never done anything like this before so please don't be too hard on me. Thanks,

I listened to them, K. :) I think they're fierce! :D I like the first one slightly better... the drums have more presence to me. But I only listened to each once. There's also a sound in the back that sounds a little bit like a distorted disc scratch... it seems a little too distorted to me, although I should really listen to this with monitor headphones. But anyway, I think I really like them! :)

My iPod was on shuffle and I heard this song yada yada yada.....what's it called? I thought it might be Big Pun, but I skimmed through all his stuff and couldn't find it.

I remember the second verse was about 1:20 into the song and it was some nice rhymes about money. Some words I remember: finance, financial, money, expand your horizons, diversify, manage

Your shuffle syncs to your Mac. So if you plug it in, it will update all your playcounts, etc. So all you have to do is go to your 'Recently Played' smart pl and check the songs that were played most recently. That is the only reason I still have this pl on my iTunes cos this sometimes happends to me... If you deleted the 'Recently Played' you can just make a new smart pl. Hope that helps :)

Well first of all I don't have a shuffle so does it work with normal ipods? I've never noticed the playcounts or anything else update after plugging in my ipod. And also I must have listened to at least another 5-6 hours of music after so I doubt it would still be there.

I finally found that damn song thanks to brepublican's recently played idea. So it's Fire Water by Big Pun on Endangered Species. I was kinda off, it ended up being the last verse. Oh well. Here's a short clip of that verse I was talking about. Link (http://media.putfile.com/pun)

Hip Hop should be used in the future for piped in muzak for offices, bars, medical waiting lounges, game rooms and train stations which will be conveniently dispersed and sprinkled about the confines of Hades.

Mmmm, I'm trying to think if I listened to any hip-hop yesterday...hmmm...probably just Vivrant Thing, which I already posted. So I will go with:

African Queen
2Face Idibia
Face2Face

which actually is more of R&B ... erm...

Mamma Got Ass
Juvenile
Erm.. I'm not actually sure what cd it's on besides his Greatest Hits

Awww, well, sleep is good for you sometimes, 2ny. Except when it's the cousin of death. :D

And that song is a definite classic. :D I didn't know ODB was the other rapper in it. I thought Wyclef was on that track, but I guess I'm wrong.

Also What'cha Wanna Do (feat. Fray?) from the same album is a great track. :)

^Yeah its ODB making all that noise in the background..hehe. Man its been crazy for the past 14 days....sleeping, work, eating, sleeping then waking up and falling back to sleep...I tell ya....no rest for the youngster.

They sure do sound like Fray...I think:confused:

I'd never heard of him and I missed this part of your post when I read it the first time, so I looked him up on iTunes. Damn. He sounds *exactly* like Pac. Damn! How did that Makavelli conspiracy theory go again?

I know it's crazy.

The first time I heard the song I'mma Die A Hustla, my ipod was just shuffling through and I was like "hmm this is a nice pac track". I looked at the artist and was like wtf. This song imparticular. Everything from the beat to the hook to the rhyming style is like pac. I know this song isn't on the iTMS so I donno if you've heard it or not. Listen here. (http://media.putfile.com/Imma-Die-A-Hustla)

And mkrish the machiavelli conspiracy theory (I think this is what you're talking about) is to fake your own death to evade your enemies.

You are right with the conspiracy theory....thats pac...notice on all of the album cover he don't show his face...LOL

I just bought that song off the iTMS. His flow is so pac-like it's spooky.

Anyway right now i'm listening to some organic hip-hop jazz, 100% groove, and you don't stop, from The Roots a philadelphia based rap group.

Yeah, when he died, people were saying Tupac had done the same. Too bad Blac Haze doesn't actually *look* like Pac. :o

I ended up picking up Live 4 Me -- it's the B-side to World Fulla Killaz (hehehe, that's even a Pac *line*!), because I liked the flow better. Nice.

Are you yidding me. Listen to this and tell me it doesn't sound like pac http://media.putfile.com/Imma-Die-A-Hustla

Obviousely he's not nearly as talented a writer as or as good a rapper as pac but there is definately some resemblance.

I dunno man. To my ears, this sounds nothing like him. But then again, I have 2Pac's entire catalogue... Maybe it'd sound more like him if I didnt listen to 'Pac as often.

Lil' Zhane sounds more like 2Pac than this guy! Seriously.

As do I, plus more and I still think it sounds like him. And I don't think Lil *Zane* sounds like him that much. I guess we hear pac very differently :p
