its out of a camera; about 3" wide... im afraid to put it in thinking ill never get it back; Damn dvd drive on the macs!!!

No!!!
Never ever put anything but regular sized CD/DVDs into a slot loaded drive. Best case scenario, you need a service provider to get it out, worst case, you destroy the drive...

Probably not. But if it does get stuck, if memory serves I think there is a small button inside the slot-loading disk drive to eject it manually-I was going to use it on the Mac OS X install disk when I Boot Camp-ed (they damn eject key wouldnt work in Windows 😡 ). If not then just take it to your local Apple Store-they'll get it out for you.ljump12 said:

You can buy a loader which is a black ring that the mini-DVD will fit into and let it work in slots. Wouldn't work vertically, but if you can find one then you can try it.
