Does anyone use those cooling stand type things for their notebook? Tagus makes one I think it is called the cooling pad. I was just curious if they worked and were worth the $20 investment.

This is a link to the targus example.

Thanks

i used to use one back when i had a g3 powerbook.

it was less for cooling and more just to have something to enhance the ergonomics of the laptop.

i found the oen i used very useful in most situations and there are some much nicer ones out now.

It depends, they are really nice if you plan to have the computer stationary and want to use a keyboard and mouse with it. They usually keep them a little cooler if they have an open bottom on them, but not drastically.
Best for a desk where you would have it sitting there for extended periods of time with a keyboard and mouse.
