isla vista in santa barbara is one of the premium college party spots in california...some say the college has been very good about this and does not issue a lot of homework according to one college guide i read somewhere

bingo! the amazing thing was that no one picked up on the fact that i was trashing his sorry ass. i know subtlty is my strong point, but then i DID throw in a few moral tirades with no real effect.

if you're 14 and you need to drink to have fun? actually, if you need to drink to have fun ever.... and when people are drunk and they "are into you"... guess what, they're not really into you. but i guess if you don't mind taking advantage of people, then more power to you.

and getting drunk when you're 14 isn't a "part of adolescence..."... or at least, just because it is, doesn't mean it should be. doesn't mean it's "good". i never got drunk when i was 15. for some reason my life is measured in more than how many shots i can handle and how much ass i get on the weekends.

again i realize why i have so little hope for people.

jonny- i never went to parties. but that doesn't mean i don't feel confident that i don't need/want drinking/"partying" in my life... i never went to parties where a bunch of popular pricks got drunk... but it's not like i didn't have my crew over and make some movies or play some nintendo... i can see why people might say "i had to find out what it was like for myself"... but me personally, i don't feel that need. i can have a blast without it, so why add something that does have negative effects (regardless of whether they outweigh the positives or not)? why add that if i am having a great time without it? not to mention the whole no thanks for putting any more poisons into my body than i already to...

jonny- i never went to parties. but that doesn't mean i don't feel confident that i don't need/want drinking/"partying" in my life... i never went to parties where a bunch of popular pricks got drunk... but it's not like i didn't have my crew over and make some movies or play some nintendo... i can see why people might say "i had to find out what it was like for myself"... but me personally, i don't feel that need. i can have a blast without it, so why add something that does have negative effects (regardless of whether they outweigh the positives or not)? why add that if i am having a great time without it? not to mention the whole no thanks for putting any more poisons into my body than i already to...

thats how i feel. i would rather have a dr pepper. alcohol is an aquiring taste, you just gotta used to it, which i never did. i still hang out with my friends at parties with alcohol, they dont care if i dont drink because of two reasons. they are too drunk to care, and if i dont drink any that means there is more for them. i never stop anyone from drinking unless they are my friend and they may be driving themself or others. then i have to go home and get the suburban and take people home, i dont mind though, at least they arent dead in the morning.

I do stay at home all day. If I wanted to drink/do drugs/whatever
I could, because most of my friends either drink, do drugs, or both
and I am just the only clean person in my 'possy' :). Ive been
exposed to situations when I could have gotten drunk, but I chose
not to, so although I've never been drunk, I think I can offer a
pretty good view on the subject. If you strongly disagree with
anything I'm saying please say so, because I could be wrong, and
I always want to correct my faults.

no way am i disagreeing with you. i dont that stuff either, and most of my friends do. i think you qualify for a fair point of view. i was just seeing if you were saying that stuff because you see what your friends are like or because your DARE officer told you it was bad. I commend any teenager who is near my age and can resist that stuff.

got a lot of smart people on this forum. i myself have done everything...i've tried everything. some i enjoyed, but not enough to keep it up, and now i'm definitely clean. i'm glad you guys don't have to try. cause your not missing much....unless you enjoy the taste/headache/embarassment/moneyloss that drinking/drugs give you.
