I work for a particular patent company doing all of their computer work including managing the website. Basically my question is, how to get my page bumped up in the results in various search engines, using particular keywords. Such as "file a patent" for instance.

Is this something that is controlled and I have no bearing on, or are there things i can do! Thanks in advance..

Be very careful, especially with Google, not to wander too far away from their own recommendations. They have a tendency to punish site operators who try too hard.
