Hey guys,

I've got a PowerMac Dual G5. Smokin' machine with 2gigs of RAM and the ATI 9650 dual DVI with 256mb on it. No gaming on this machine, strictly photos.

I'm about to purchase a Dell 32inch LCD display but I also want to keep my 19inch Samsung LCD.

I'm looking for recommendations for a second display adapter for the samsung. No digital inputs on it at all, straight VGA.

Thanks for your help.

You don't need a 2nd graphics card...hook your Dell display up to one DVI port, and then get a DVI to VGA adapter (such as this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814999201)) to hook up into your other DVI port and convert it to VGA to plug into the Samsung monitor.

so when the site says: The Dell™ 3007WFP requires a dual-link DVI graphic card that supports up to WQXGA

they don't mean i have to use both dvi connectors?

dual-link DVI is NOT the same as just using two DVI connectors

Nope...you just need a dual link card. The ATI has 2 DVI ports, one of which is dual-link and one of which is single-link. You hook the DVI connector from the dell screen into the dual-link port and the Sharp screen into the single-link port and you are good to go.
